Tim Simodynes

Tim Simodynes currently serves as the Assistant Director for Traffic Operations at the Iowa Department of Transportation, a position held since October 1997, where responsibilities include overseeing Transportation System Management and Operations (TSMO). Tim has previous experience as the State Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Engineer, planning and maintaining ITS initiatives. From 2012 to April 2020, Tim held the role of Iowa State Director for ITS Heartland, contributing as a member of the Board of Directors for the organization. Additionally, Tim served as Grand Knight for a local council of the Iowa Knights of Columbus from 2000 to 2001. Educational qualifications include a BS and MS in Civil Engineering from Iowa State University, completed between 1991 and 1997.
