Alexei Lomakin

Alexei Lomakin is a seasoned engineering professional currently serving as the Manager of Electrical & Software Engineering at IPG Photonics since September 2022, where leadership across diverse high-stakes projects includes designing custom electronics hardware and developing real-time Linux applications. Prior to this role, Alexei worked at MIT Lincoln Laboratory for nearly a decade, providing remote technical leadership on software-defined radio systems and contributing to next-generation LEO constellation developments. Alexei also held significant positions at Mercury Computer Systems, leading the design and transition of various real-time systems to manufacturing, and has a history of new product development at Music Telecom and Analogic Corporation. Alexei holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Digital Signal Processing from Saint Petersburg State University of Aerospace and Instrumentation.
