Kelvin Hui began their work experience in 1991 as a Software Engineer at Valmet Automation (USA) Inc., where they designed and developed software for SCADA applications. Kelvin then joined Dow Jones Telerate in 1993 as a Senior Staff Engineer, where they maintained the Dow Jones Telerate Trading Room Systems (TTRS) and provided support to clients in Houston. In 1995, Kelvin worked as a Systems Administrator at Paranet, where they managed UNIX-based computer networks for EuTEC, an Exxon Company. From 1996 to 2000, they worked as a Senior Engineer at ABB Automation, converting and porting software applications. Kelvin then joined Aspen Technology Inc. in 2000 as a Principal Software Engineer, working on various products such as Process Order, Product Tracking, Olefins Scheduling, and InfoPlus21. In 2011, they joined PetraSoft Consulting as a Senior Software Architect, focusing on an oil well analysis and visualization application. Most recently, Kelvin worked at IPT Global, LLC as a Principal Software Engineer and later as the Lead Software Engineer, leading a team to design and develop applications aligned with the company's vision.
Kelvin Hui began their education in 1985 at the University of Houston, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Kelvin continued their studies at the same institution and obtained a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering in 1991. In 2012, they enrolled in a course on Computing for Data Analysis at Coursera.org, though no specific degree was mentioned.
