Matt Hopwood, PhD, is a Man-Made Catastrophe Research Analyst at IQUW since April 2024, focusing on risk assessment related to man-made catastrophes, especially in the Cyber domain. Prior to this role, Matt served as a Senior Computational Scientist and Computational Scientist at Risilience from March 2022 to April 2024, specializing in Climate Physical Risk, Natural Capital, and Enterprise Risk Modelling. Matt pursued doctoral studies at the University of Birmingham from September 2016 to July 2021, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Applied Mathematics, and previously completed an MSci in Mathematics at the same institution from 2012 to 2016.
