John Martinez is a distinguished medical professional with extensive experience in various roles within sports medicine and urgent care. Since October 1999, John has served as Medical Director for The IRONMAN Group, overseeing medical operations for the Ironman Triathlon World Championships in Kona, Hawaii. Additional roles include Chief Physician for the Hawaii Ironman World Championships and Medical Director for USA Blind Soccer and USA Goalball National Teams. John currently works as a per diem physician at UCSF-GoHealth Urgent Care and is involved with telemedicine through You Health Medical Groups and PWNHealth. Previously, John has held significant positions at Dignity Health, including Clinical Department Chair for Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine, and has contributed to innovations within healthcare as Physician co-chair for their Innovations Committee. John holds an MD from Albany Medical College and has advanced training from the Kaiser Permanente Sports Medicine Fellowship.
