Keith Sutherland currently serves as Vice President and General Counsel at Irving Shipbuilding since October 2024. Prior to this role, Keith held the position of VP Legal & Regulatory Affairs at Emera Energy from September 2012 to October 2024, focusing on corporate law in the energy sector, particularly in natural gas and power commodities transactions, as well as energy management and M&A activities. Keith's earlier experience includes serving as Senior Legal Counsel and Legal Counsel at Stewart McKelvey, where the practice encompassed mergers and acquisitions, financing, and corporate project structuring. Additionally, Keith worked as an Associate at Bennett Jones LLP from September 2007 to September 2010. Keith holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from Dalhousie University and a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) from McGill University.
