Le Hong Hiep

Le Hong Hiep is a prominent academic and researcher with extensive experience in international relations and Southeast Asian studies. Since February 2015, Le Hong Hiep has been a Senior Fellow and Coordinator of the Vietnam Studies Programme at the ISEAS - Yusof Ishak Institute, also serving as a Fellow and Visiting Fellow. Le Hong Hiep contributes to the academic community as a Co-Editor and former Associate Editor of Contemporary Southeast Asia, an internationally peer-reviewed journal. As the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Nghiencuuquocte.org, Le Hong Hiep leads a leading website on international affairs in Vietnam. Previous roles include Lecturer in International Relations at Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, and Desk Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam. Le Hong Hiep holds a PhD in Politics from UNSW, a Master’s degree in International Relations & Diplomacy from the Australian National University, and a Bachelor's degree in International Politics and Vietnam Diplomacy from the Institute for International Relations.

ISEAS - Yusof Ishak Institute (ISEAS)

ISEAS - Yusof Ishak Institute (formerly Institute of Southeast Asian Studies) is dedicated to the study of socio-political, security, and economic trends and developments in Southeast Asia and its wider geostrategic and economic environment. The Institute aims to stimulate research and debate within scholarly circles, enhance public awareness of the region, and facilitate the search for viable solutions to the varied problems confronting the region. It also strives to nurture a community of scholars interested in the region and to engage in research on the multi-faceted dimensions and issues of stability and security, economic development, and political, social, and cultural change. The Institute conducts a range of research programmes; holds conferences, workshops, lectures, and seminars; publishes briefs, research journals, and books; and provides a range of research support facilities, including a large library collection.
