Dr. Mark Harfensteller joined ITM as Head of Production and R&D in 2008. In 2016, he became Managing Director of ITM Medical Isotopes. Under Mark’s leadership, the company established an industrial and GMP compliant production, meeting the demand of the rapidly expanding radioisotope market. Prior to his work at ITM, Mark successfully completed a project at the Institute of Machine Tools and Industrial Management (TUM), focusing on the development and production of alpha-emitter, 225Ac, via the irradiation of 226Ra in a cyclotron. The project has been nominated for the “Deutscher Zukunftspreis”.
Mark holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Munich (TUM) (Germany).
