Harvey Locke

Harvey Locke is an experienced leader in conservation and public policy, currently serving as Chair of the Beyond the Aichi Targets Task Force at the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas since 2017. In this role, Harvey Locke focuses on advancing global conservation efforts beyond the Aichi Targets for Biodiversity. As Principal of Harvey Locke Conservation Inc since 2003, strategic consulting services and public speaking are provided to non-government organizations and philanthropists, particularly in large landscape conservation and climate change. Harvey Locke also holds the position of Strategic Advisor at the Yellowstone to Yukon Conservation Initiative. Previous experience includes serving as Vice-President for Conservation Strategy at The WILD Foundation and running as the Federal Liberal Candidate for Calgary Centre in 2012. Academic credentials include a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a Bachelor of Arts in French from the University of Calgary.
