Kira Mileham is a seasoned professional in conservation and science communication, currently serving as the Global Director of Strategic Partnerships for the IUCN Species Survival Commission since November 2014. In this role, Kira strengthens collaboration among a network of 10,000 scientific species experts through partnerships with various organizations. Previously, Kira was the Community Conservation Manager at Taronga Conservation Society Australia from August 2011 to October 2014, managing conservation campaigns to engage the community in wildlife protection. Kira also has experience as an Environmental Biology & Evaluation Advisor at Symbolix and in academia at the University of Newcastle, where contributions included lecturing and program development. Kira's educational background features a PhD in Science Communication and degrees in Ecology and Communication from the University of Newcastle.
