Steve Amos

EVP, Projects at Ivanhoe Mines

Steve Amos has over 30 years of mining industry experience. He started his career working for the Anglo American group, where he spent 16 years working in the areas of precious metals processing in South Africa and copper processing in Zambia. He then spent 6 years at Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) specialist AMEC Minproc (now called John Wood Group). Here he fulfilled the role of Technical Manager, responsible for process engineering and feasibility studies on various projects.

Mr. Amos joined Ivanhoe Mines in 2011 in the position of Vice President, Metallurgy, and was later transferred to Kamoa Copper as Head of Projects, where he has spent the last 8 years.

Mr. Amos holds a Bachelors (Hons) and Master’s degree in Metallurgy from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The reportable segments are engaged in the development of mineral properties in South Africa; exploration and development of mineral properties through a joint venture in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC); and the upgrading of mining infrastructure and refurbishment of a mine in the DRC respectively.
