Amit Dev has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Amit is currently working as an Indirect Tax Technology Associate Director at BDO UK LLP since November 2022. Prior to this, they served as a Senior Tax Technology Lead, Indirect Tax from February 2021 to November 2022 and as a Tax Technology Lead, Indirect Tax from August 2018 to February 2021, both at BDO UK LLP. In 2021, Amit had a secondment at Tax Systems, where they assisted with the implementation of the AlphaVAT system. Before joining BDO UK LLP, they worked at KPMG UK as a member of the Indirect Tax team from October 2016 to August 2018. Additionally, Amit held the position of Interim Tax Manager after being seconded to the University of Birmingham from November 2017 to February 2018. Amit'searlier experience includes working at Highways England as a Tax Manager (previously Finance Manager + Graduate Engineer) from September 2007 to September 2016, and at Cerner as a Solutions Delivery Consultant in 2006.
Amit Dev attended UCL from 2002 to 2006 and obtained a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Electronic Engineering with Communications Engineering, achieving a 2.1 (hons). Prior to that, from 2000 to 2002, they studied A-Levels at City and Islington College. In terms of certifications, Amit obtained an ACA from ICAEW in 2013 and is currently pursuing additional certifications, including a Certified Implementer of Avalara AvaTax from Avalara University for Partners and a Diploma in Tax Technology from the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT). Amit has also obtained an FCA from ICAEW in 2023.
