James Lam Yi has a diverse work experience in software engineering. James started their career at UC Berkeley as an Undergraduate Research Assistant, where they worked on projects related to Cooperative SLAM, Autonomous Quadrotor UAV Indoor Localization, and Air Parcel Server Development.
After that, James joined Cisco as a Software Engineer in 2016 and worked there until 2021. During their time at Cisco, they gained valuable experience in software development.
Most recently, James joined IXL Learning in 2021 as a Senior Software Engineer. In this role, they took ownership of designing and implementing a micro-service system to provide user-friendly UIs, manage code builds, and run environments on AWS. James also designed and implemented a validation micro-service system.
Throughout their career, James has shown expertise in languages such as Python and JavaScript, as well as working with frameworks like Flask. James has a strong background in data modeling and RESTful APIs.
