Bill Barter

Bill Barter has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Bill began their career as an Editorial Assistant/Assistant Editor/Developmental Editor at McGraw-Hill Higher Education in 1990. Bill then worked as a Sales Representative at Cengage Learning (Thomson Learning) before becoming an Engineering Editor at the same company.

In 1998, Barter returned to McGraw-Hill Higher Education, where they held various roles including Senior Sponsor/Sponsor, Mathematics, Statistics and ALEKS, Publisher, Mathematics, Statistics and ALEKS, and Vice President, Online Learning. During their time at McGraw-Hill, Barter received the 2001 McGraw-Hill Companies Corporate Achievement Award for Innovation.

Barter later joined Tuatara Corporation as a member of the Board of Advisors, where they provided consulting services for a disruptive digital service. Bill then joined Link-Systems International, Inc., where they served as Vice President, Business Development, Senior Vice President, Business Development and Marketing, and ultimately Chief Product Officer.

Barter's most recent role was at The Jackson Laboratory, where they held positions such as Director, Online and Digital Education, Interim Vice President, JAX Genomic Education, and currently as Director, Education Platforms.

Bill Barter attended Ellsworth High School in Maine from 1981 to 1985. Bill then went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and American Literature from Brandeis University from 1985 to 1989.
