Michael Watkins

Michael Watkins, MPH, CSP, serves as the Senior Director of Environmental Health and Safety at The Jackson Laboratory, overseeing EHS and Occupational Health since April 2024. Prior experience includes roles as Senior EHS Site Leader at GE Vernova, where responsibilities encompassed EHS leadership at a gas and steam turbine manufacturing facility, and Senior EHS Advisor at GSK, leading emergency response and safety committees at a GMP vaccine site. Michael's career began at The Jackson Laboratory, where previous positions included Manager of Environmental Health & Safety and Industrial Hygiene and Safety Specialist, focusing on multi-site EHS operations and industrial hygiene assessments. Additional experience includes industrial hygiene roles at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and Idaho National Laboratory, as well as an EHS Technician position at BYU-Idaho. Michael holds a Master of Public Health from Tulane University and a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from Brigham Young University - Idaho.
