Rebecca Sheedy Smith

Rebecca Sheedy Smith is a Clinical Research Project Manager at The Jackson Laboratory, focusing on the Rare Disease Translational Center, which aims to advance the diagnosis and therapy of rare diseases. Prior to this role, Rebecca served as a Genetic Counselor at Geisinger, where responsibilities included clinical counseling and research coordination for the Autism and Developmental Medicine Institute and Simons Searchlight. Previous experience includes internships in genetic counseling at WellSpan Health, Mercy Medical Center, and the University of Maryland Medical Center, as well as a role as an Emergency Medical Technician at Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Company. Rebecca holds a Post-Graduate Certificate in Genomic Counseling and Variant Interpretation from The University of British Columbia, a Master of Science in Genetic Counseling from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Lebanon Valley College.
