Derek Mock has an extensive background in interpretive engagement, education, and team building. Currently serving as Interpretive Engagement Supervisor at Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens since August 2019, Derek has held multiple roles within the organization, including Education Specialist and Volunteer Engagement Coordinator. Prior experience includes facilitating team-building activities at True Friends and handling public relations and content creation for various organizations. Derek has also worked in guest service positions at Buffalo Wild Wings and Cracker Barrel, and gained valuable experience in journalism while writing for the Charlton County Herald. With a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations from Georgia Southern University and currently pursuing a Master's in Biology at Miami University, Derek combines strong communication skills with a passion for education and community engagement.
