Joachim Malan is a highly experienced technical artist with a notable career in the gaming industry. Currently serving as Lead Technical Artist at Jagex since November 2024, Joachim previously held the position of Principal Technical Artist at Sharkmob from August 2021 to December 2024, and Lead Technical Artist at CCP from April 2017 to September 2021, where responsibilities included senior and technical artist roles. Prior experience includes serving as Senior Technical Artist at Lift London - Microsoft Studios, focusing on Microsoft HoloLens projects, as well as Technical Artist roles at Frontier Developments, where Joachim developed pipelines and tools for innovative technology. An educational background includes a BA (Hons) in Games Art from the University of Hertfordshire, complemented by a Diploma in Visual Communication Design from The Open Window.
