Christy S. Coleman is an accomplished leader in the museum and cultural organization sector with extensive experience in strategic development and innovative programming. Currently serving as the Executive Director of the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation since January 2020, Coleman previously held the position of Chief Executive Officer at the American Civil War Museum, where notable achievements included the merger of the American Civil War Center and the Museum of the Confederacy to enhance educational offerings and collections. Prior roles include President and Chief Executive Officer of the American Civil War Center at Historic Tredegar, Vice President at Arts Consulting Group, Inc., and President and Chief Executive Officer of the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History. Coleman has also contributed to various boards and councils including the American Association of Museums and the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame. Christy S. Coleman holds a Master of Arts in Museum Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from Hampton University.
