Thomas Wiertsema has over 25 years of experience in the utility and engineering sectors. Since November 1997, Thomas has held various positions at JEA, including Director of Customer Field and Meter Services, Manager of Electric Meter Services, Meter Working Foreman, and Meter Technician. Prior to this, Thomas served in the US Navy as an Aviation Electronics Technician from September 1990 to September 1994, where responsibilities included maintaining a fleet of 13 F/A 18 aircraft to ensure operational readiness. Thomas earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Electronic and Communications Engineering Technology/Technician from Florida A&M.
