Michelle G. Mullen, PhD is currently serving as the Senior Vice President & Chief Design & Impact Officer at The Jed Foundation (JED), a nonprofit organization focused on protecting emotional health and preventing suicide among teenagers and young adults. Michelle G. has been with JED since August 2022. Prior to this, they held the role of Head of Design & Impact at JED from August 2022 to May 2023. Michelle also has experience as an Assistant Professor at UMass Chan Medical School since March 2018. Michelle G. previously worked as a Proprietor at Mullen Consulting LLC, where they provided assistance with program design, development, implementation, evaluation, grant writing, and training and technical assistance from June 2017 onwards. Before their time at Mullen Consulting, Michelle was an Assistant Professor at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey from July 2003 to March 2018.
Michelle G. Mullen, PhD has a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Michelle G. also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and a Master of Science degree in Psychiatric Rehabilitation/Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling from Boston University.

How We Do It: Our evidence-based, comprehensive public health approach equips teens and young adults with the skills and knowledge to help themselves and each other, strengthens schools’ mental health and suicide prevention policies, programs and systems, and mobilizes community awareness, understanding, and action. Vision: JED is building a future where every high school, college, and community has a comprehensive, fair, and just system that protects emotional health and prevents suicide among teens and young adults.
