Simon's career began in the Royal Air Force from January 1990 to January 2012 as an Avionics Engineer and Senior Supervisor on the 17(R) Squadron, where responsibilities included overseeing Test and Evaluation processes for Typhoon aircraft. Additional experience includes working as an Aircraft Engineer on Jaguar aircraft from November 1997 to December 2001, as well as early employment as a Postman at Royal Mail in Macclesfield.
