Maende Makokha is a seasoned public health professional with extensive experience in HIV prevention and community health initiatives. Currently serving as Chief of Party for the RISE Project at Jhpiego since February 2013, Maende leads efforts to support voluntary medical male circumcision services in Tanzania. Previous roles include Project Director for the USAID-funded SAFE Project, Deputy Chief of Party for the AIDSFree Project, and Senior Technical Advisor for the Maternal and Child Health Integrated Program. Maende's career also features significant contributions as an Independent Consultant with multiple organizations, including FHI 360 and DAI, and a background in project management with AMREF and CARE. Maende holds a Master of Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and a Bachelor of Arts from Egerton University.
