Samuel Mariam

Samuel Mariam is a seasoned legal and contracts administration professional with extensive experience in oversight, compliance, and resource development. Currently serving as the Sr. Director of the Contracts Management and Compliance Division at Jhpiego since March 2016, Samuel manages a team of attorneys and contracts specialists, overseeing a substantial portfolio of approximately $750 million in cooperative agreements, grants, and contracts. Previous positions include Vice President of Contracts and Grants Administration at University Research Co., LLC, where growth from under $50 million to over $140 million in annual funding was achieved, and similar roles at DevTech Systems, Inc., and the International City/County Management Association, focusing on compliance with federal regulations and financial monitoring. Samuel holds a Juris Doctor from George Mason University School of Law, a Master of Arts in Russian Area Studies from Georgetown University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Russian Language and Literature from Washington University.
