Dr. K.N. Memani, is a Chartered Accountant. Shri Memani was Chairman & Country Managing Partner of Ernst & Young, India till 31st March 2004. Specializing in business and corporate advisory (foreign taxation and financial consultancy) and is consulted on corporate matters by several domestic and foreign companies.
The government of India had appointed Dr. K.N. Memani as Chairman of the Quality Review Board, an oversight board to review the quality of auditors. He was Co-Chairman of the Expert Committee constituted by the Ministry of Company Affairs for the drafting of the new companies act. He was on the External Audit Committee (EAC) of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for two consecutive years (1998-2000) and was appointed the Chairman of EAC for the year 1999-2000.
He currently holds the prestige of being the only Indian to ever be appointed on the committee by the IMF. Dr. K.N. Memani was Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in India during the years between 2005-06 and 2007-08. Dr. K.N. JK Lakshmi Cement Limited is a holding company. The Company is a manufacturer of cement. The Company is engaged in providing cementitious materials. It offers cement under JK Lakshmi Pro+ Cement, JK Lakshmi Cement, JK Lakshmi Power Mix, JK SmartBlox, JK GypGold and JK Lakshmiplast brands. JK Lakshmi Cement is in three variants: Portland Pozzolana Cement (PPC) (Blended), 53 Grade ordinary Portland cement (OPC) and 43 Grade OPC. The Company offers gypsum-based plaster under the JK GypGold brand; autoclaved aerated concrete blocks under the JK SmartBlox brand; site-mix concrete under the JK Lakshmi Power Mix brand, and Plaster of Paris products under the JK Lakshmiplast brand.
