Michael Collins began their work experience in 1998 as the Assistant Commissioner for Participation and Success at the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. In this role, they led various initiatives and supervised a team of professionals. From 2004 to 2011, they served as the Program Director at Jobs for the Future. Following that, they became the Associate Vice President for Postsecondary Policy at the same organization. In 2016, they were promoted to Vice President, where they directed strategy, integration, and fundraising and managed major programs.
