Niels van den Akker is a seasoned technical professional in the maritime and offshore sectors, currently serving as a Technical Superintendent at JR Shipping since March 2019, following a tenure as Junior Technical Superintendent. Previous experience includes roles at Neptune Energy as an Operator Mechanic specializing in offshore crane operations and with Petrogas E&P as an Operator Mechanic. Niels also worked as a Mechanic Operator at Redwave (USG Energy) and held engineering positions at TOS - Transport & Offshore Services. Niels' early career involved apprenticeships focusing on nautical and technical activities at various companies. Niels holds a degree in Maritime Officer from Zeevaartschool Abeltasman, further supplemented by foundational education at Bogerman College.
