Daniel Smart

Daniel Smart is a seasoned professional in the field of regulatory science and toxicology, currently serving as Non-Clinical Director Regulatory Science at JTI (Japan Tobacco International) since March 2023. Prior to this role, Daniel held various positions at Philip Morris International, including Product Safety Assessment Leader and Preclinical Toxicologist, with a total tenure at the company spanning nearly a decade. Daniel's early career included significant roles as a Genetic Toxicologist at GSK and as a Research Scholar at New York Medical College. Academically, Daniel earned a PhD in Biochemical Toxicology and an MSc in Toxicology from the University of Birmingham, following a BSc in Pharmacology from the University of Liverpool.
