Jubilee
Steve Keener is a passionate advocate for combating loneliness through community and belonging. As Executive Director, he oversees all aspects of Jubilee including its strong response to the COVID-19 pandemic. He is leading Jubilee efforts to: support a larger and more diverse group of adults with disabilities in Montgomery County; create more opportunities for people to have homes of their own; and develop sustainable staffing models that benefit staff and the people we support.
A former Jubilee Board Member, Steve took the Jubilee helm in 2019 after serving as Corporate Counsel and Assistant Secretary at Special Olympics International. He was Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel for L’Arche Greater Washington. He received his law degree from the University of Notre Dame. The course of his life’s work was set as a young man when he and his wife volunteered as live-in caregivers for two men with disabilities.

Jubilee provides residential and related support services to adults who have intellectual and other developmental disabilities in Montgomery County, Maryland. A faith-based organization affiliated with the Hyattsville Mennonite Church, we accept customers and staff of all religious backgrounds.
