Gene Groys is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in the technology and healthcare sectors. Currently serving as Chief Strategy Officer at MedaSync since January 2022, Gene focuses on connecting healthcare spending to care delivery for post-acute providers. As an Entrepreneur in Residence at JumpStart and Youngstown Business Incubator since October 2014, Gene mentors early-stage companies in Northeast Ohio. Gene is also a founding member of Lake Erie Partners, facilitating professional growth for emerging leaders. Previously, Gene founded OnShift, growing it into a significant player in staffing and labor optimization for long-term care. Additionally, Gene held leadership roles at American Greetings Interactive, Lavastorm Technologies, and Siebel Systems. Gene earned an MBA in Business Administration and Management from the University of Texas.

JumpStart’s primary service is intensive entrepreneurial development assistance delivered to Northeast Ohio entrepreneurs leading high potential, early-stage companies. JumpStart also supports thegrowth and strengthening of Northeast Ohio’s innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem by securing a continuous stream of resources for entrepreneurs. In doing this work, JumpStart focuses on economic inclusion and activities that increase the success of minority and women entrepreneurs in growing high impact companies. As Northeast Ohio’s entrepreneurial landscape continues to transform, JumpStart collaborates with community and regional leaders nationally to support the startup and development of high growth businesses that have a significant and sustainable impact on the economy.
