Leader Process Design at Kalundborg Refinery

Maria Bjerregaard is an experienced leader in process design and technical safety within the refining sector. Currently serving as Leader of Process Design and Project Leader at Kalundborg Refinery since March 2021, Maria previously held significant roles at Equinor Refining Norway and Statoil Refining Denmark. At Equinor, Maria was responsible for Process and Technical Safety at Mongstad Refinery from February 2019 to March 2021. Prior to that, Maria spent several years at Statoil Refining Denmark in various leadership positions, including Team Leader for Process and Technical Safety and Project Leader for Design Integrity. Maria's career began as a Process Engineer at Statoil Refinery, where they progressed to Team Leader of the Laboratory. Maria holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Chemistry from Ingeniørhøjskolen Odense Teknikum, completed in 2002.

We are Kalundborg Refinery, a Danish energy company, with more than 350 engaged employees. We are the largest oil refinery in Denmark processing approximately 5.5 million tonnes of crude oil, condensate and feedstock per year and has a tank capacity of 1.2 million m3. The refinery produces naphtha, petrol, diesel, fuel oil and heavy fuel. Our primary markets are Denmark and Scandinavia.
