Claire Chaplinski is currently a board member at Kankakee Community College. Prior to that, they worked as an employer services representative at Canopy Financial, a law clerk at The Chaet Kaplan Baim Firm, and a loan assistant at HomeStar Bank.
Claire has always been interested in helping others. Claire originally pursued a career in banking because they wanted to help people with their finances. However, they soon realized that they were more interested in the legal side of things. Claire decided to become a law clerk so that they could assist attorneys in court proceedings and help people who had been wronged.
During their time as a law clerk, Claire worked on drafting breach of contract and subrogation suits, preparing motions and post-judgment citations, and assisting attorneys in court proceedings. Claire also worked on a "Prior Bad Acts" memorandum while they were a law clerk at the Cook County States Attorney's office.
Claire is passionate about justice and helping others. Claire is excited to continue their work as a board member at Kankakee Community College and help the students there succeed.
Claire Chaplinski has a J.D. from The John Marshall Law School and a BA in Political Science and Women's Studies from Purdue University.
