Shivkumar Venkatasubrahmanyam is a seasoned bioinformatics scientist with extensive experience in computational biology and genome analysis. Currently serving as a Staff Bioinformatics Scientist at Karius since March 2015, Shivkumar contributes to the development of a pioneering non-invasive diagnostic test utilizing NGS technology for over 1500 pathogens. Prior to this role, Shivkumar worked at Amgen from September 2010 to October 2014 as a Bioinformatics Scientist in the Genome Analysis Unit. Shivkumar's earlier research included a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University focusing on bioinformatics of stem cell signaling and gene regulation, where innovative approaches were utilized to analyze stem cell gene expression data. Educational credentials include a BS in Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of California, San Francisco, and postdoctoral research in Bioinformatics at Stanford University.
