Derek Chu

Derek Chu is a seasoned professional in venture capital and business operations with extensive experience across multiple high-profile companies. Currently serving as a Board Observer for POSH, Pickle, and Metaloop, Derek is also a Kauffman Fellow in the prestigious Kauffman Fellowship Program, aimed at developing global leaders in the VC space. Prior to these roles, Derek held significant positions at Airbnb, including Business Operations Lead for the Americas and Chief of Staff for Airbnb China, where substantial contributions were made to scaling operations and launching new initiatives. Earlier experience includes a tenure as a Senior Associate at Menlo Ventures, where investments in notable startups were sourced. Derek began a career in finance with roles at Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank after earning a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School.
