Joona Turtiainen

Joona Turtiainen serves as the Director of Sustainable Growth at Energiateollisuus ry – Finnish Energy since December 2011, focusing on advocacy for clean energy policies, including hydrogen and electrification initiatives. Previous roles include Director of Advocacy and Head of EU Affairs, where lobbying for a carbon-neutral energy future by 2050 was prioritized. Additional experience includes positions as Vice Chairperson of the Board at Kaupunkiliikenne Oy, Board Member at HKL - HST, and Sustainability Officer at Fortum, where responsibilities encompassed corporate sustainability and environmental management. Joona's early career involved climate policy consulting at the Climate Counselor and educational engagements that included a Master's thesis on bioenergy at both the Finnish Environment Institute and the Ministry of Environment. Joona holds an M.Sc. in Energy & Environment from Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan and an M.Sc. in Industrial Ecology from Chalmers University of Technology.
