Faris Kattan

Faris Kattan currently serves as the Facility Safety Manager at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), overseeing construction and facility safety, loss prevention, and fire protection since December 2024. Prior to this role, Faris held the position of Senior Fire & Safety Engineer at Saudi Aramco Base Oil Company-Luberef, where expertise was applied in the $500 million Yanbu Refinery Expansion Project, focusing on loss prevention and process safety management. Additional experience includes roles at Emaar, where policies for fire safety were developed for over 40 facilities, at Saudi Railway Company managing fire stations and conducting inspections, and at OSHArabia establishing a fire consultancy. The educational background includes a Master’s in Engineering Management from the University of the West of England and a Bachelor’s in Fire and Safety Engineering from the University of South Wales.
