Peter Richtarik

Professor Of Computer Science at KAUST

Peter Richtarik is a distinguished academic with extensive experience in computer science and mathematics. Currently serving as a Professor of Computer Science and Associate Professor of Mathematics at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology since February 2017, Peter also holds the position of Turing Fellow at the Alan Turing Institute since 2015. Previous roles include Visiting Professor at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor of Mathematics at The University of Edinburgh, and Visiting Assistant Professor at UC Berkeley, focusing on big data research. Peter has also contributed to academia as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Catholic University of Louvain and earlier as a Research & Teaching Assistant at Cornell University, where Peter earned both a Ph.D. and an MS in Operations Research. Peter's educational background also includes degrees in Mathematics and Management from Univerzita Komenského v Bratislave.
