Johan van Gompel

Johan Van Gompel is a distinguished economist and academic with extensive experience in both teaching and finance. Currently, Johan serves as a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Antwerp and a Senior Economist at KBC Bank & Verzekering, a role held since January 2010. In addition to these positions, Johan also instructs as a Visiting Professor at Antwerp Management School and has previously held visiting professorships at the Royal Military Academy and KU Leuven. Johan's contributions to research and policy are underscored by leadership experience as Chair of the Study Committee on Aging at Hoge Raad van Financiën from 2017 to 2023. Johan's academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Antwerp and advanced degrees from Université catholique de Louvain and the University of Antwerp.
