Jamie Lewis is a Scholar Advocate at KC Scholars since July 2023, bringing a diverse background in mental health and education management. Previously, Jamie served as a Behavior Specialist at KiPP Legacy High School and held multiple roles at DeLaSalle Education Center, including Mental Health Coordinator and Care Team Coordinator. Experience also includes work as a Site Coordinator with Communities In Schools of Mid-America and as a Debt Collector for the Social Security Administration. Earlier career efforts involved serving as a Family Eligibility Specialist Caseworker for the State of Missouri and as a Lead Site Coordinator at the Local Investment Commission (LINC). Jamie holds a degree in business management with a focus on family science from Anderson University, completed between 2001 and 2007.

Kansas City Scholars (KC Scholars; www.kcscholars.org) is a 501(c)(3) college scholarship, college planning and persistence support, and college success program designed to increase the college completion rate for low- and modest- income students and adult learners across the six-county, bi-state service region. KC Scholars launched in September 2016 and, in less than four years, has experienced widespread community engagement and rapid scaling. We now have over 3,000 Scholars, with near 1,200 in college. KC Scholars is on the path to near 10,000 Scholars by 2022 and is projected to grow to near 20,000 by 2027.
