Emmy Burrus

Emmy Burrus is an experienced journalist currently serving as the News Director at KCPR FM Cal Poly Radio, leading a team of approximately 20 reporters and overseeing on-air newscasts focused on local news. Emmy has a diverse background in various journalism roles, including News Anchor, Assistant News Director, and Content Writer at KCPR, and has gained additional experience as a News Intern at KPFA Radio and a Fact Checker for Diablo Magazine. Emmy has also worked as a Video Reporter and News Reporter at CP Mustang News and as a Contributing Writer for Patch.com. Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Journalism at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, Emmy has demonstrated strong research and reporting skills across multiple media formats.
