Pavel Synek has had a varied work experience, beginning in 2008 as a Lector at Elpida. In 2010, they became a student at Åbo Akademi. From 2011 to 2020, they worked at EBSCO Information Services, starting as a Trainer and Support Representative - Central, Eastern & Southeast Europe, then becoming a Senior Trainer & Support Representative - Central, Eastern & Southeast Europe, and finally Regional Sales Manager (Central Europe). In 2020, they moved to NTK - National Library of Technology, where they held the role of Head of the Department of Information Management. Currently, they are a Customer Success Manager at Keboola and a Lecturer at Masaryk University.

Pavel Synek received an Ing. (M.Sc.) in Applied Informatics from Prague University of Economics and Business from 2009 to 2013. Pavel then earned a Mgr. (MLIS) in Information Studies and Librarianship from Charles University from 2008 to 2011, followed by a Bc. in Information Studies and Librarianship from Charles University from 2005 to 2008. Pavel has also obtained a number of certifications, including a Python Programmer Track from DataCamp in 2022, an Importing & Cleaning Data with Python Track from DataCamp in 2021, a Crash Course on Python from Coursera in 2021, a SQL Fundamentals from SoloLearn in 2019, an Analyze Data with SQL Skill Path from Codecademy in 2019, and a Programming for Everybody (Getting Started with Python) from Coursera in 2015.
