Mark Askew is a seasoned professional in the venue management and events industry, with extensive experience spanning over two decades. Keele SU is a not-for-profit organisation which is in place to support, represent, entertain, develop and inspire Keele students: Activities - Activities at Keele brings together the different aspects of the student experience, offering the chance to participate in societies, represent fellow students, take part in a range of activities and much more. These opportunities allow students to learn new skills, enhance employability and meet new people. In 2012, around 1,700 students signed up to societies over the course of the year. Volunteering - Graduate employers want much more than just a degree from their applicants and the best place to gain new skills is through part-time work and volunteering. In 2011/12, Keele student volunteering had a massive social impact, contributing hours to the value of £23,000 to the local community. ASK (Advice & Support at Keele) - Provides essential support to our diverse student population, providing information, advice, representation and general support through the student journey. In 2012, ASK succeeded in obtaining £45,259 of quantifiable monetary gains for students. Entertainment - With the student experience at the forefront of our minds and ambitions, we aim to ensure each student gets the most out of their free time here at Keele. Our licensed outlets and weekly events provide a much needed income that is ploughed straight back into the services we provide.
