Georgi Stoychev

Georgi Stoychev is an Associate Scientist at Kemin Industries since August 2022, previously serving as a Scientist at NIRvana Sciences from March 2020 to August 2022. At NIRvana, Georgi was the sole polymer expert, engaging in the design, synthesis, and characterization of single chain nanoparticles, monomer creation, and polymer-protein conjugation methods, along with quality control and grant writing. Prior to this, Georgi conducted postdoctoral research at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine, investigating lung mucus properties in health and Cystic Fibrosis, and at the University of Georgia, focusing on stimuli-responsive polymers for smart textiles and tissue engineering. Earlier research experience includes a position at the Leibniz Institute for Polymer Research Dresden, contributing to a European project on artificial DNA structures, and a summer internship at BHP Billiton analyzing nickel ore tailings. Georgi earned a PhD in Chemistry from Technische Universität Dresden and a Master’s degree in Chemistry from Lomonosov Moscow State University.
