KEMPF Inc.
KEMPF adapts vehicles for drivers with disabilities. It was founded in the USA in 2007 but its know-how, tradition and work ethics are based on the company KEMPF in France started in 1954 by Jean-Pierre Kempf who had polio and wanted to drive with both hands on the wheel. He invented the accelerator ring on the steering wheel. At the end of his life in 2002 he had adapted over 100 000 vehicles for drivers with a disability. Thanks to him, the accelerator ring became the “standard hand controls” in France. His daughter Martine Kempf whose passion was designing electronics hardware and software and who had moved to Silicon Valley to start her electronic company, decided to continue his legacy so she founded KEMPF SAS in France in 2002. A few years later in 2007 she started KEMPF Inc. particularly to adapt vehicles for disabled veterans in Tampa, FL. Soon KEMPF Inc.’s products were made available to anybody. Today they are used by customers in over 30 States. DARIOS, the digital accelerator ring allows a driver without the use of both legs to keep both hands on the steering wheel. The system appears to be a part of the original equipment of the vehicle. KEMPF offers a lifetime warranty on all its adaptations. KEMPF features nationwide free at-home pick-up and delivery of your car and at-home service. All KEMPF products are VA accepted. Visit us at: www.kempf-usa.com.
