Lique Coolen

Lique Coolen currently serves as the Assistant to the Provost for Special Projects at Kent State University, where responsibilities include leading scholarship and internship programs for STEM students, directing the Office of Postdoctoral Studies, co-leading DEI and AAAS Sea Change initiatives, and supporting economic development projects. Lique is also a Professor of Biological Sciences, focusing research on Spinal Cord Injury, Neuroendocrine control of Reproduction, Motivation and Reward, and Drug Addiction, with funding from various federal agencies and foundations. Previous positions include Associate Dean for Research Development and Postdoctoral Studies at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, and professorial roles at the University of Michigan, Western University, the University of Cincinnati, and others. Lique holds an Executive MBA from Kent State University, a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Radboud University, and a Bachelor's and Master's in Psychology from Utrecht University.
