Undergraduate Student Researcher In Condensed Matter Physics at Kenyon College

Dilara Sen is an undergraduate student at Kenyon College, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Physics, with an expected graduation in May 2025. Currently, Dilara serves as an Undergraduate Student Researcher in Condensed Matter Physics, working in Professor Frank Peiris's lab to develop a Magneto-Optical Kerr Effect experiment as part of an Honor's research project. Additional experience includes serving as a Teaching Assistant and Grader for various physics courses and conducting research in both condensed matter and atomic, molecular, and optical physics. Notable research presentations include investigations on the optical properties of SnSe films and coherence times in three-body mixed states. Recently, at NASA Glenn Research Center, Dilara contributed to the Quantum Communications Project as a Space Communications and Navigation Research Assistant. Dilara is also engaged in a study abroad program at The University of Edinburgh, focusing on Physics and History.
