Kenyon College
Simon Garcia is an Associate Professor of Chemistry at Kenyon College since September 2006, focusing research on the chemical control of materials structure, particularly in photovoltaic materials. Simon's research group explores the role of molecular ligands in shaping semiconductor crystals during growth and etching processes. Prior to this, Simon served as a National Research Council Postdoctoral Research Associate at NIST from October 2004 to June 2006, where development centered on crystal growth processes for metal oxides used in sensing and photovoltaic applications, as well as investigations into the use of ligands for controlling zinc oxide nanorod morphology. Simon earned a PhD in Chemistry from Cornell University from 1999 to 2004.
