Kepler Communications Inc.
Diego B. has a diverse work experience in hardware design and engineering. Diego is currently working as a Hardware Design Engineer at Kepler Communications Inc., starting in October 2022. Prior to this, from January 2021 to October 2022, Diego worked at ecobee as a Hardware Engineer.
Diego also has experience at Intero Integrity, where they worked as a Hardware Design Engineer from October 2016 to December 2020. In this role, they were responsible for the complete design cycle of multiple PCBs for robotics applications, including concept development, schematic and layout design using Spice and Altium, and manufacturing and testing. Diego excelled in selecting state-of-the-art components to improve reliability and reduce cost and complexity. Additionally, Diego conducted PCB design reviews and provided suggestions for improvements.
Before joining Intero Integrity, Diego briefly worked at ACTIA Group as a Hardware Engineer in 2016. Here, they successfully redesigned an RGB matrix for a railway infotainment system, reducing costs by 20% while maintaining performance. Diego also fixed an Ethernet communication issue caused by high temperatures through design improvements, leading to client satisfaction. Diego also contributed to writing technical documentations for railway clients.
In their earlier career, Diego gained experience as a Junior Software Engineer at Indra from December 2015 to June 2016. Their responsibilities included providing support for IVR machines, report elaboration, and Linux Red Hat server maintenance. Diego also completed an engineering internship at Invodane Engineering from June 2014 to June 2015, where they designed PCB boards to test BLDC motors, troubleshooted the designed boards, and documented the process. Their first internship was at IMP-Telecommunications in July and August 2013.
Overall, Diego B. has demonstrated expertise in hardware design and engineering, with a strong track record of successful projects and contributions to the field.
Diego B. completed their Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Industrial Electronics Engineering from Universidad de Málaga between 2010 and 2015. In 2017, they obtained certifications in Altium Designer - Advanced and Altium Designer - Essentials from CAD MicroSolutions Inc. | SolidWorks | Markforged | SWOOD | DriveWorks. Diego then pursued a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Toronto Metropolitan University, which they completed between 2018 and 2020.
Kepler Communications Inc.
Kepler Communications is a satellite communications company that is working towards establishing an in-space telecommunications network for space-borne assets. Put simply, we are building cell phone towers in space. This infrastructure will resolve the problem of intermittent connectivity for non-geostationary satellites, will open new businessopportunities that necessitate real-time connectivity to satellites, and will reduce reliance on costly and difficult to deploy ground infrastructure. The company is currently developing technologies and delivering services that solved terrestrial connectivity needs, offering terrestrial wideband and soon-to-be narrowband connectivity services for IoT applications. With Kepler's first service, named Global Data ServiceTM, they have been able to pack more Mbps into a nanosatellite than anybody else ever before. This wideband service delivers a store-and-forward type of solution for companies needing to move large quantities of delay-tolerant data from regions where connectivity is limited or non-existent. It is designed to transfer 100s of GBs of data monthly between remote locations and company headquarters or the internet. This service is available today for trials.Kepler is also developing a satellite service for Internet of Things devices – called everywhereIoTTM. A low-power, low-cost, bi-directional narrowband satellite service that will allow to connect assets all around the globe (at sea, land and even in the poles). With two satellites already in orbit, and a third scheduled for launch later in 2019, the company is currently preparing the deployment of its first LEO constellation for 2020.
