Keyano College
Michael Chen is an experienced professional in instrumentation and control with a robust background in education and project management. Currently serving as an Assistant Teaching Professor at Thompson Rivers University since April 2018, Michael teaches the Instrumentation and Control Technician Apprenticeship program. Concurrently, Michael operates as the Principal at ChenTech Automation, providing consulting services in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, and has been instrumental in the development of the Oil Sands Power and Process Engineering Laboratory at Keyano College since May 2014. Previous roles include Technical Instructor at BCIT and Technical Officer at the National Research Council Canada, where expertise in instrumentation for hazardous environments and real-time data acquisition systems was developed. Michael holds multiple degrees and diplomas, including a Provincial Instructors Diploma from Vancouver Community College and has extensive experience in various engineering and technical capacities, dating back to the mid-1980s.
