John P. Gorel

John most recently served as the Executive Director of the Greater Carbondale Chamber of Commerce and previously held executive roles in property management and real estate. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Penn State University.

John’s career has centered around public relations, marketing, and project management. He has spent much of his time creating relationships between industry, non-profit, business, and local governments, developing practices to bring these separate entities together. John has focused on workforce development in the communities by identifying needs helping facilitate educational and training programs to create a stronger and more sustainable workforce.

John believes that in this ever-changing time in workforce development that he can continue to identify the problems that employers are having and help create solution based continuing education and professional development programs through Keystone College’s Professional Development Institute. As an active community member, his goals are to help employers create better employee retention through the proper training and development.
